-Villa Il Cornino – Radda in Chianti map

Cornino di Radda is a traditional stone villa set in a stunning elevated location on a family estate. Surrounded by endless rows of vines and woodland, it is a perfect refuge to relax and unwind in. The villa has two independent apartments, one with 5 bedrooms and one with 4 bedrooms. The villa is only 4kms from the charming Tuscan town of Radda in Chianti which has shops, supermarkets, banks, chemist and restaurants.

Outside the garden wraps around the house and has panoramic views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The grounds are mainly grass with mature trees providing welcome shade during the hottest part of the day.

The arched entrance has doors to both the ground floor and two staircases leading up to the first floor; there are terracotta tiled floors and tiled and beamed ceilings throughout. The ground floor has the advantage of having more than one kitchen, which is very useful if more than one family are sharing the house.

The door on the left opens into a kitchen/dining room with table and chairs, cooker, fridge and open fireplace. There is also a double sofa bed in this area.

The door on the right hand side takes you into a small hallway which has doors to a bathroom with shower and straight ahead takes you into a bedroom suite with twin antique style iron beds with an arch through to a lounge/dressing area. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin and WC; and this is also where the washing machine is located.

The main kitchen area for the ground floor is accessed either through the bedroom suite or from the outside. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave oven, free standing fridge freezer and dining table with 6 chairs. Along one wall is an impressive brick built open fireplace.

To the right of the fireplace is another bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe. To the left of the fireplace a narrow corridor has two bathrooms with full size bath and hand held showers, basin and WC. Directly ahead is another double bedroom with views over the garden towards the pool area; and off to the right hand side is a further lounge/kitchen/dining area with TV and doors out to the garden. The final bedroom is to the right of the kitchen and has a double bed with an ensuite bathroom with shower, basin and WC.

12 stone stairs take you up to the first floor opening into a large open plan living area. (please note there is no handrail so care must be taken with young children). To the right is a well-equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, gas hobs, microwave and mocha coffee maker. Straight ahead is a large wooden dining table and chairs with pretty wooden dresser. To the left is a lounge area with TV and an open fireplace as the focal point. Leading from the lounge area, a doorway takes you into a corridor with access to a double bedroom and single bedroom. A shared bathroom is located between the two bedrooms. The bathroom has a full size bath with overhead shower.

A doorway from the dining area leads to another corridor with access to three further double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. One of the bathrooms has a shower and one has a full size bath with overhead shower, the third bathroom is a wet room.

This is a great villa in a wonderful location – perfect for large groups of friends or families wishing to holiday together.

The large pool has a wide paved surround furnished with plenty of sun loungers, tables and chairs. There is ladder access at the shallow end and a diving board at the other end. In one corner is a brick built barbeque and pizza oven and there is a large wooden gazebo with dining table and chairs – perfect for those al fresco meals.

The pool measures seven metres by fourteen metres and has ladder access at the shallow end. The pool has a depth of 1.2metres increasing to 2.5 metres at the deepest point. From the pool area there are great views of the surrounding countryside and the town of Radda can be seen perched on the hillside.

-Hotel CerniaS.Andrea – Marciana Marina (Isola d’Elba) map

You do not think anymore about the fatigue of your journey, about the day’s toil, the frantic pace of living. You have crossed a toungue of sea, have penetrated into the heart of the island, into its colours and smells, have climbed up till Marciana… You have sometimes lost hope… the sea seemed far away…, but suddenly the road has started to go down and now you are at your hotel. I see you entering the door, sometimes with your luggage, other times with your booking letter, which you have already read a lot of times to be sure that, yes, your holidays are near at hand. This moment always makes me moved: it is the beginning of a new human experience.

The dishes we serve are the gastronomic expression and creativity of our chef Michele Nardi. He loves the island, its sents, perfumes, tasts and is therefore more than competent in our kitchen.

Apart the daily menù Michele offers a restaurant card which smells the ocean and the surrounding mountains, homemade bread and small seasonal surprises, biologica olive oil and a large selection of the best italian wines.
